Welcome from our Headteacher

At St. Mary's, Christ is at the centre of everything we do. We aim to achieve this by following our vision, 'In God's love we learn and grow.'

The children, parents, staff and governors of St. Mary's are very proud of our school. St. Mary's is a warm, welcoming community where everyone genuinely does matter. All of our children are treated as individuals and are supported by committed, passionate staff who aim to nurture a life long love of learning and enable all children to achieve their true potential.

If you would like to arrange a visit, please contact the school office or email s.chiswell@cbc.beds.sch.uk.

Our Vision:

"In God's Love we learn and grow"

God is at the heart of everything we do.

We will nurture a life-long love of learning in every child in order that they achieve their full potential.

We recognise and celebrate all achievements together as a school family.

Through a prayerful, happy and safe environment, we will help each child to grow in God's love as part of a caring Catholic community.

Our latest OFSTED Report - October 2015

  • Pupils feel safe and behave well. They are polite, courteous, develop confidence and self-esteem.
  • Children in the early years make good progress and are well prepared for Year 1.
  • Teachers often plan learning that is fun and exciting. They use computer programs, music and pupils’ own work to engage all pupils in well-planned themes.
  • Reading is taught well and pupils' progress rates are accelerating.
  • Teachers plan learning and support that helps disabled pupils and those who have special educational needs to make progress at a similar rate to their peers. Teaching assistants are used well to support and motivate individual pupils and to ensure they understand what to do.
  • The headteacher engages well with parents, and has developed a good partnership with the local community.
